Wood: Silver Maple / Genuine Mahogany

This was a retirement gift for a first sergeant. All of the letters on the stand are hand drawn and cut out, and the diamond, which is removable, was laser engraved.

Wood: Hickory / Exotic Redwood

This is 1st RTBN "C" Company's Initial Drill trophy. The "C" on the front is fretsawn from exotic wood, and the boot is permanently mounted to the top. This was meant to document over 6 years of the company's history with brass plaques affixed to the body of the trophy.

Wood: Black Walnut

This was hand crafted for an individual that was quite proud of his achievments through the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program. Each piece is made of solid black walnut, and is joined together using mortise and tenon joinery, the same as seen in fine furniture.

Wood: Red Oak

This is the current NCO/Marine of the Quarter board for Weapons and Field Training Battalion, MCRD Parris Island, SC. The outside frame and picture frames were cut from solid Red Oak, and the back board was covered with felt. The sword mount was custom made of the same wood for even coloring and presentation, and is permanently mounted to the board. The swords are still removable.

Wood: Genuine Mahogany

This was a plaque from a MCMAP class, given to their instructor. The plaque is made out of solid Genuine Mahogany, and was laser engraved. The raised portion is a chamfered block of the same wood, with a 16d nail permanently affixed to the front.

Wood: Purpleheart / Poplar

This plaque was created to look like the Purple Heart ribbon. The coins are mounted even with the surface and the ribbons were mounted permanently to the board. The Purple Heart medal device was placed within a recess made for it. The color of the woods are natural. There were no dyes or stains used in creating this award.

Wood: Red Oak

This was a plaque presented to a Drill Instructor School instructor. The story goes that he broke his clipboard during one of his periods of instruction. So, his squad got him a clipboard that they challenged him to break. Good luck!

FYI: It's still in one piece...

Wood: African Mahogany

This is one beautiful cover press! Before this is described, note that the color of this wood is natural. The shifts in color are the grain changing direction, and the light reflecting from that change in grain. The front of this cover press is laser engraved with two customized logos, Sprit, Discipline, and his last name. Afterwards, it was coated with an epoxy resin to seal it in, providing a glass-smooth finish and amazing durability. The reverse was engraved with a graphic of the Parris Island gate and the Drill Instructor's creed. This side was finished with many coats of varnish in order to provide an almost perfectly smooth finish. This is probably one of the best examples of cover presses on Parris Island.

Wood: African Mahogany

Another cover press in African Mahogany. This is a beautiful wood, as well as a very strong and stable wood. This piece recieved several coats of varnish to produce a smooth coat of finish. The hole within the press is the usual hole used with my designs.
